P450 Solution

The Cytochrome P450 (CYP450) family is a major subset of all drug-metabolizing enzymes. To date, up to 58 distinct P450 genes have been identified for humans. BGI initially developed a target region sequencing-based methodology for enrichment of selected genomic regions of these 58 genes (222,450 bp, including coding sequence and untranslated regions). Their genetic polymorphisms could predict therapeutic failures or severe adverse events, optimize drug dosing and help define distinct subgroups of populations that differ in their ability to metabolize various drugs.
