Epigenomics

EpgenomeResearchEpigenetics involves the study of changes in the regulation of gene activity and expression that are not dependent on the DNA sequence. Epigenomics refers to a more global analysis of epigenetic changes across the entire genome. The epigenetic changes include DNA methylation and histone modification, which regulate high-order DNA structure and gene expression. DNA methylation profiling provides valuable information on a wide variety of research fronts, including differentiation of stem cells, the mechanism of environmental influences on development of complex disease, and cellular aging. Accurate DNA methylation profiling can be a key step in identifying potential biomarkers for therapeutic interventions.
